On Thursday, Dec 5, Horizon Elementary welcomed back their students from Winter Break. Ms. Hansen’s Jr. Kindergarten class along with Mrs. Nielsen's Kindergarten class took advantage of the beautiful winter day and became snow engineers, using our Habits of Mind to accomplish big things! In small groups, students designed a snow fort and then had the opportunity to create their snow fort in the large snow hill outside of the elementary school. Students spent time creating and innovating different ways to build their snow forts, adding tunnels, steps, and slides while using buckets, shovels, and other tools to help them along the way. We had the best day in JK/K!
