The Harrisburg School District Transportation Department serves over 1800 students on 36 routes, totaling over 120,000 miles throughout the school year. Getting our students to and from schools safely is always our bus drivers' number one priority.

Under South Dakota state law 13-30-1, students who live more than five miles from their assigned school are eligible for transportation services. Harrisburg School District surpasses this requirement by providing bus transportation to students beyond a one-mile radius of the school.

In 2024-2025, we initiated our new student transportation software for all elementary and middle school students, designed to enhance the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our student transportation services.

Route information for students who qualify and have been registered for bus transportation can download and log into the My Ride K-12 App for bus stop location and route times.
