Identification Timeline

Universal screening of all 1st and 3rd Graders happens annually. Those above the 75th percentile on the Ability Screener will complete additional assessments.

Referrals for assessment can be requested by teachers or parents outside of the universal screening years by contacting the building principal and/or Jess Krueger.

Elementary Level

Tiger Reserve

Tiger  Reserve is the full-time option available to identified students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 from any elementary building.  Transportation to Tiger Reserve is provided.  Students and families electing to join a full-time Tiger Reserve option need to know that students are expected to work hard to develop these academic behaviors and habits. 

  • be self-motivated and come to class to learn

  • be willing to work at a faster pace

  • participate actively in class and do not stop the learning of others

  • produce quality work complete nightly homework and long term projects

  • demonstrate an intense desire to be challenged by breadth and depth of course content

Tiger Trek

Tiger Trek is the send-out program available at the elementary level in all elementary buildings.  Students participate in academic enrichment/extension lessons every other week. 

New-to-District families can request assessments in any academic year.

Schedule

Schedules with dates and times for each building are sent to participating Tiger Trek learners' parents and teachers via email. If needed, please contact Tara Peterson.

Identification

Identification for Tiger Trek includes students scoring in the 80 - 94 percentile range. Students who qualify for Tiger Reserve but choose to stay in their home school can participate in Tiger Trek.
